In particular, ongoing SEO is valuable for competitive niches or locations where its important to keep up with (or go beyond) what your competitors might be doing. 

ABSOLUTELY NOT! Black hat SEO strategies are unethical or manipulative techniques used to improve a website’s search engine rankings quickly. These practices violate search engine guidelines and can result in penalties, including being de-indexed or heavily demoted in search results. Examples include buying / selling links for ranking purposes, hiding text or links in a way that search engines can read but users can’t and keyword stuffing.

The ultimate goal of an SEO campaign is to reach the first page of Google, and preferably, within the top 5 organic results for target keywords and/or drive more traffic to the website to improve the chances of converting customers.

The time it takes to do this depends on different factors, like how competitive your niche is, your starting point, how many strategies you’re willing to try.

Unlike paid Google ads which will put your website at the top of google search results, organic traffic takes time. However, it’s a ongoing investment that helps to build domain authority and trust in the market, which search engines will reward in time by ranking your website higher.

In some niches, results can be as quick as three months. And in more competitive markets, this is likely to take 6-12 months.

Any SEO company that guarantees that your site will rank on the first page of Google isn’t being transparent with you. The reason I say this is because Google doesn’t share the complete in’s-and-out’s of their algorithm. So, if someone is insistent they can get you to the top of the search results, consider whether they are the right fit for your business.
